Seeing as I want to do something with this later I have created a bonding system that lists how a character feels about another character. Players can update each characters bio to reflect how they feel about that person.
Mortal Enemy - Absolute hatred, no possibility of change
Enemy - Not well liked, hostile
No Status - This character does not know the other character
Neutral - This character has heard of the other but does not care for them or care about what happens to them. Sees them as just another person.
Acquaintance - This character knows of and would care if the other died. They may want to be around each-other and many enjoy one another's company. This is often the prelude to friendship.
Friend - This character is on good terms with the other. They want to be around each-other and want to enjoy doing things with another character.
Close Friend - This character will tell the other character most of their secrets. Both characters genuinely care about each other and want the best for each-other. They may talk intimately but not so much as lovers.
Lover - These characters are in love. They care for one another and would do anything for their partner. Betrayal at this phase would lead to mortal enemy status more often then not.
Married - This explains itself.
Soulmate - These characters care so much for each-other that they have a spiritual bond that can not be broken. These characters will forever be in love and care for one another.
